Wearing braces - Part 4

The rubber bands have arrived! Yes I'm officially stuck with wearing rubber bands in my mouth for the next few months.

see the rubber band stretching from the bottom right to the top right?

A print shot of me wearing my rubber band. I'm going to be really honest and say its a very tedious process wearing a rubber band!!! Everytime I eat I have to take out the band. However, this also means that if I want the teeth to move fast, I have to let the bands stay on as often as possible. In other words, no SNACKING!!! Sigh, I'm all skin and bones already. These rubbers bands are really not helping in my attempts to gain some weight.

Ok apart from the inconvenience whenever I need to eat, the bands also restrict how wide my mouth can be opened. It sucks, cause its so hard to pronounce my words clearly! And everytime I yawn, it goes "snap" and I have to re-wear the bands again.

what the bands look like when I yawn zzz.

So I don't wear my bands to work! Its an occupational hazard for me :( I wonder how those people using invisalign survive with the plastic moulds lodged in between their teeth. And this Saturday I'm going to be a lector and read at a wedding. How to wear the rubber bands like that ??? What if it snaps during the most important part of the ceremony?

I really lack the discipline to put my bands on. I know Dr Cheng is not going to be too pleased but the bands are really troublesome! I hope by some miracle the teeth are still shifting. Well update on my next visit which is scheduled at the end of June. Till then, am praying for the discipline to wear the bands on a daily basis.
