Bread Street Kitchen Singapore

Finally! Oh finally! Gordon Ramsey has finally opened a restaurant in Singapore.
I knew I had to try it after watching him on Masterchef.

I tried to make a reservation on the morning itself. But low and behold, they were fully booked. I was told I could try my luck by walking in as they had some seats for walk-in customers. With lots of excitement buzzing in me, I dragged M down to MBS.

Upon arrival, we were told that we could only get bar seats. We settled for those and on the bright side, that gave us a wonderful view of the Singapore skyline with her crowning glory - the towering buildings of the financial district.

Glancing through the menu, I saw many word that ran synonymous with what I often saw on Masterchef. "Hey look there's seared scallops. Hey look there's chimichurri sauce. Hey they are doing that in cabbage puree."  I wanted to try everything!

But as there were only two of us, we finally settled for the following -

California maki roll

The avocado in this roll was extremely creamy and I liked the circular flour crumbs that gave this dish that extra crunch factor. This dish is definitely worth trying!

Warm Bang Bang chicken, watercress, mouli, chilli, beansprouts, radish, ginger, peanuts

This dish had a very Asian taste. Vegetables weren't as fresh as in other countries and the watercress was a tad bit too bitter. But nevertheless, if you need some greens, this dish is one of the many salad dishes on offer.

Lamb chops

I chose this dish over their famous fish and chips. The skin was served crispy black and that gave my first bite that "wow" factor. I asked for medium rare and upon slicing through it, I gleefully saw the pinkish tone that I was hoping for. However, this dish definitely got the better of me towards the end. There was so much heat trapped in the dish that towards my last few mouthfuls, I had to constantly reach for my drink to neutralize the heat.

Forbidden Forest and Summer Halia

These mocktails were the bomb! If had to choose something to recommend, I would definitely recommend these. They pair perfectly for the grilled dishes and I like how that they were awesome thirst quenchers.

By the time we finished our mains, my stomach was screaming "enoughhh!". Overall, the food was very rich and for the prices (below $100 per dish), I must say its worth a visit.
