Singaporean girl in Italy (2)

Cinque Terre day tour

Another day tour we took was a journey out to the colourful town of Cinque Terre which is a world UNESCO heritage site situated along the Italian riveria.

Cinque Terre means 5 lands in Italian and thats exactly what we did; trek through the 5 different lands. There was a LOT of walking throughout the tour so if you have weak knees or joints, please bring along a pair of walking sticks.
1st stop
Manrola
I was very impressed by the colouful views which greeted us while being able to smell the fresh ocean air.

 2nd stop
We took a train here and had to trek up about 382 steps before reaching Corniglia.
We had our lunch here which consisted of a seafood appetizer and linguine pesto as mains.

3rd stop
For this tour, we had to do a 1.5 hour trek to get here.
It was a hilly terrain and the sun was pan frying everyone so hard that everyone said that I was very smart to bring along an umbrella as a shield. We had a bit of free time here to slurp on some cooling gelato and to take a dip in the ocean.

4th stop
Monterosso
The train brought us here to the next village. There were many orange coloured umbrellas opened out for us to relax under. Restaurants and cafes are also plentiful in this village.

5th stop
Riomaggiore
Resting on an equally hilly terrain like her neighbours, this place stood out for the number of fried seafood shops.

Tour verdict
There's a lot of walking involved and I heard the views are much better along the coastal walking trails. So if you're one who is a sucker for coastal scenic view, you will definitely enjoy taking the rugged walking path.
