You've heard of creative entrepreneurs who have turned an old church into a classy restaurant (The White Rabbit). How about one who turns an old fire station into an ultra cool restaurant? At Spruce, the owners have made use of this old space to open their 2nd outlet and bring an awesome dining experience, consisting of high ceilings and soaring glass windows to the enjoyment of their patrons.
At first glance, the centre of the restaurant will dazzle you with this amazing bar (above). Dotted with a wide variety of alcoholic drinks, expect to savour your food with a great alcohol pairing of your choice.
For those going there during the brunch hour, their eyes benedict is worth a try. Well cooked, with the egg yolk drooling out together with the hollandaise sauce, this sure is a dish worth trying. I mean admit it, how many of us budding cooks can actually make a nasty plate of poach eggs?
Those eyeing a healthier dish may consider their tuna tartar. Freshly served with bread and vegetables, this is one dish that says healthy food can be yummy too!
Picture worthy were these banana pancakes that were drizzled with blueberries, bananas, crackers and sweet syrup. At $14, this was one of the cheaper dishes on offer. Soft, fluffy and sweet, this is one dish that braces wearers like me will thoroughly enjoy.
There's quite a big hype about this place since its located in an old fire station. While you don't get to see fire engines or any fire equipment, the architecture of a fire station has been preserved. Expect high ceiling, big doors and a wide carpark area with free parking. Definitely a place for a lovely weekend brunch outing.
