|| DAY 1 ||
TOUCHED DOWN || Reached a rather hot and humid Macau at around 4.15pm. As my travel itinerary consisted of going to Shenzhen on day 4, we got ourselves ferry tickets from the Turbo Jet booth at the airport itself. A single trip from Macau to Shenzhen costs about SGD 37.
Cabbed to the hotel and this time I decided to try out Metropark Hotel. Its one of those rare hotels that exists without a casino in Macau. But due to its central location, its a stone's throw away from both the small and big casinos. A handful of eateries also exists around the area, so you won't have to worry about being hungry after a whole night of gambling.

The indoor lap pool. A jacuzzi hot tub resides next to the pool for those in need of a water massage.

By the time we checked-in, it was time for dinner. I had done an online reservation for the famous, The Eight restaurant ,which is located at the Grand Lisboa. A Michelin-rated restaurant, my hopes for an awesome gastronomic experience were extremely high.
Roast suckling pig
The best dish out of all that we ordered. The skin was crispy to perfection and the meat beneath it extremely juicy and succulent. Chewing it in my mouth felt like heaven.
Mushrooms in pumpkin sauce
A creative concoction, the pumpkin sauce paired very well with the mushroom. The sauce was just nice; not too diluted neither too heavy.
Claypot rice with chicken and chinese sausage
Chose this claypot dish as it had a highly recommended sign next to it. But sadly, the taste failed to live up to its expectations. The rice tasted very normal. It lacked the crispy rice feel that you get from cooking rice in a claypot. The ingredients tasted nothing extraordinary. Would recommend you choose something else from the menu.

Ranked #8 out of 323 restaurants on Tripadvisor
Had a quick walk through of the Grand Lisboa casino and its one awesome casino which you just have to see for yourself. It was the only casino that had woman dancers dancing on stage while guests placed their bets at the various tables. An eye-opener for tourists in Macau.
After dinner, it was neon sightseeing time!
Lots of neon signs dazzle tourists as one walks around the tourist belt. From the casinos to the restaurants, every businessman tries to clamour for your attention through their neon signages.
After walking around aimlessly to digest our food, we called it quits and headed back to the hotel to rest our tired soles.
