Macau: Day 2

|| DAY 2 ||

Did the touristy stuff and went down to Senado Square. Lots of picture taking opportunities and western styled buildings to marvel at.

|| LUNCH ||

Headed to the famous Wong Chi Kei to check out the big fuss about it. Was there at around 11.30am and thankful there was no queue. The restaurant is located right smack in Senado Square itself.

The entrance of Wong Chi Kei that greets you

 The crab porridge that was heavenly. The rice was thickly soaked in the crab broth.
 Finally managed to have my dumpling soup fix :)
macaroni with luncheon meat

The luncheon mee had just the right texture. It was chewy yet soft and had just the right amount of salt for my liking.

Being 2 storey high, the restaurant has this really cute concept of transporting food by mini food lifts. Saw the waitress putting the dishes into a lift and sending it down to the first floor. Interesting concept!

For good yet affordable Cantonese food, Wong Chi Kei is the place to go. But be warned, the queues get snaking long during the peak hours.

|| St Paul's Ruins ||

At the base of St Paul's ruins. It was a very hot day, I was burning as the picture was taken.

Wandered aimlessly around the area and we found ourselves under a string of multi coloured florals.
So pretty! I just had to take a pic.

CASINO HOPPING || The scorching heat was killing us. Thus, we decided to do the touristy indoor stuff which is none other than checking the myriad of casinos lying around the island.

Inside the Wynn hotel, where the tree of prosperity is located.
Too bad I wasn't in time for the prosperity show, might have had better luck at the casino -_-

Inside the MGM Grand hotel, isn't this aquarium so pretty. It feels like living in a whimsical fairytale.

Mermaids flying around the lobby. A very magical feeling for guests of MGM Grand.

Most of the big hotels come with a casino and a high end shopping mall. Spent most of my remaining afternoon browsing through these high end malls. Prices of branded goods are mostly higher than in Singapore. There is no good and service tax to be claimed. A good deal usually comes when they are having a sale on stocks which they wish to clear. On the plus side, they do have a much wider variety as compared to the shops in Singapore, especially the Chanel store! Saw pink bags of different hues which I seldom see. Definitely a nice place to window shop. Unfortunately I didn't win any money at the casino to buy myself a new luxury bag -_-
