Dimsum at Shangrila Shenzhen

While at Shenzhen, we decided to have lunch at the famous Shang Palace. Headed there on a weekday at around 12pm and the restaurant was bustling with lots of patrons.  As Shangri La is conveniently located next to the Hong Kong border, we weren't surprise to see lots of Hong Kongers.

The weekday Dim Sum lunch buffet is priced at RMB 133. That works out to approximately SGD 27 per person. Definitely a good deal considering its Shang Palace and when the Shang Palace back in Singapore is not cheap either.

Its an Ala Carte buffet, so you pick and choose and tell the waitress your orders.

Service was excellent. Despite the full house, the waitresses try to be as fast and efficient as possible. They willingly come to your table to take more orders and are constantly moving from one table to the either to refill teacups.  It took no more than 15 minutes for our dishes to be served.

Food wise, I would rate the quality 9/10. Dim Sum was piping hot and fresh. Vegetables were chewy and crunchy. Desserts were sweet and I like how they had creatively blended my black jelly with fruits and a white sweet paste to mask the blend black jelly taste.

The ambience was unique too. They had oriental umbrellas dangling from the ceiling. It goes to show that lots of effort had been taken into providing for an all rounded dining experience.

Would I come back here again? I would certainly do. I actually prefered this restaurant as compared to my experience at The Eight, Grand Lisboa, Macau.
