Just got a power chain strapped to my upper teeth and its terribly painful!!!
Headed back to Dr Cheng yesterday and he had a set of turquoise power chain strapped to my upper teeth. Notice how my upper teeth seem to have the extra lines of turquoise bands? The lines are actually one continuous band and they are called power chain.
On top of the power chain, I have to continue wearing my rubber bands, hooking it from lower left up to my upper right. Its seriously a painful process and one that requires lots of discipline. Oh yes and I can't pronounce my words clearly with the rubber bands, so most of the time I only wear them at night.
This morning at 4am I was awoken by the pain in my upper gums. The power chain were doing their work and exerting pressure on my teeth. But who likes to be woken up by pain, especially at 4am -_- ???
Messaged my colleagues and told them that I'll be extra grouchy today. So thankful for the long weekend to recuperate. I shudder to think how other adults my age balance work and wearing braces. How does one do sales, presentations, public speaking?
But for a more aesthetically pleasing smile...no pain no gain
Reflecting back on how my teeth have looked like for the past 10 years, heres a pic of my teeth taken last October. I still remember how the majority of my friends told me that my teeth were already very straight. I guess they were just very kind to me :)
Both upper and lower bite with obviously crooked and protruding teeth
and fast forward 9th months later
Tadaa! Its almost close to perfect already and I'm actually very satisfied with the results already.
Please please take off my braces soon!!
