Been setting my mind on trying out the world renowned Jaan at Swissotel and I'm so happy that I finally got to do it on my birthday (:

The family celebrated Jie's bday at DB bistro moderne located at Marian Bay Sands Singapore. Known for its desserts, the sweet tooth in me just had to get something sweet to make it a trip worth while.

Saveur brings to Singapore quality French food at pocket friendly prices.

At first, I was a bit skeptical about the quality of food at Saveur. I've eaten at French restaurants in Singapore that serve their duck priced below $20 and only to be disappointed with the tough dry bird that I was served.

However, Saveur has proven to me that one can get quality French food below $50! Wohoo to that! I'm definitely coming back to Saveur again!

FOIE GRAS
Pan-seared duck liver served w1th apple-infused port wine and vanilla bean

Interestingly I think the owners are Christians as the menu and walls were filled with bible phrases. Incidentally, one of the verses was about love. It was my oh-so-favourite verse which I'm dreaming will get read out on my own wedding although it has been used a lot of times. But anyhow thats cause it is about LOVE and I believe God's LOVE never fails. 

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
