Bintan

A asked if I would be game to go for a quiet beach holiday and that saw us making an impromptu trip to Bintan island.

The main purpose of the trip was to allow A to be reflective along the beach. I must say we managed to reach that goal since the beach was rather quiet and serene. The sand was pretty soft and white too!

In front of the beach is this big heart where couples can buy a lock from the convenient store nearby and lock their love on this heart. I saw similar concepts in Paris and Seoul. But I didn't know that there's actually a lover's lock so close to home!

Some attractions if you are bringing the kids along.

There's a new mall near the beach too but only a handful of shops were opened when we were walked past.

Our hotel, Grand Lagoi Village, had two rooftop swimming pools. We came by here in the late afternoon and was able to catch the awesome sunset while soaking in the pool.

We ate in our hotel during our one night stay here as there weren't many food options outside the hotel. I had the seafood laksa for lunch and we left the next day just after our morning buffet breakfast.
