An Ash & Elm lunch

Decided to bring my family out for lunch and use the 50% voucher from Ash & Elm that American Express had given me. (You can get yours too by signing up for the American Express Platinum credit card. Click Here.)

We started off by being served an assortment of bread followed by our appetizer. I chose the surf platter ($28) which consisted of raw fish such as salmon, marlin, tuna and sea bass. The pink mixture you see in the middle is taramasalata, made out of raw fish such as cod, carp or mullet and is eaten as a dip with bread.

The service staff here has definitely been trained on the service front. While having our appetizers, we were asked if we wanted our mains to be served in the next ten minutes.

We ordered a few mains and I'll let the pictures do the talking.

This is the French free-range yellow chicken supreme. It is corn-fed for 30 days and served with creamy polenta, roasted sweet corn with bacon and mushroom sauce.

Another dish we had was the slow-grilled Spanish iberico pork chop ($39) that was mixed with a light gravy. The dish was served with mushrooms and cut potatoes. The meat was tender and the gravy gave it a nice taste.

The star dish that was plated so beautifully had got to be the above pan-seared jumbo scallops ($36). My sister woofed it down within a good ten minutes. That was how good this dish was.

Overall, the restaurant was a feast for the eyes. From the interior to its beautifully plating of its dishes, this place definitely scores a distinction in terms of design. If you're looking for a place with a great ambience, this is one place worth checking out.
